Esther Barsel was part of the generation that revived the YCL in the 1940s. Banned in 1950, the YCL was not reconstituted for over 50 years. Cde Barsel campaigned tirelessly for the re-launch achieved in 2003, and continued to serve as historical reference, guide and support to the YCL and its leaders. Hamba kahle.
